God has done, therefore God can do…

For God has done what the law…could not do. There are innumerable ways to apply this Biblical truth to our lives. What has God done in your life that you simply could not do?
God has raised me to New Life in baptism. He has called me His own.
God has loved me perfectly, when I was perfectly unlovable.
God has declared me clean, when I only had filthy rags to offer.
God has accepted the offering of my heart and my tithe, through Christ, when it seemed so pidly, so small, so worthless.
God has spoken to me in His word. I know His voice, in a world of chaos.
God has sent His son and our lives are changed. If sin rules our marriages and our homes, we feel defeated. Sin is a reality in our lives, but it need not be the only reality of our lives. Christ has come to this Earth, he condemned sin, as man in flesh. Our spouse is probably the person most aware of our sinful self. They get all sides of us, and sometimes those sides aren’t pretty. But greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4). Greater is He that lives in our marriages, than he that is in the world.
God can do in your marriage what you can not do alone. Nice words can come out of our mouths, when frustration comes knocking. Forgiveness can flow freely when it seems undeserved. Care can be extended when we feel exhausted and incapable.

God has done, God can do. It is who He is and He shares Himself freely with His children. Be strengthened and encouraged, brothers and sisters, by His incarnation, then and now. What has He done in your marriage and what is He doing? Rejoice! He is always at work.
